KLINSMANN LINKED TO TOTTENHAM JOB

The managerial position at Tottenham Hotspur currently vacant and there have been a couple of manager options the London club have put into consideration. The club’s owner Daniel Levy decided to give José Mourinho his marching orders last week just a few days before the cup final between Spurs and Manchester City, and the action attracted a lot of reactions from some pundits and former managers.

Spurs were enduring a poor run of form since the turn of the year and the Portuguese manager was under fire for most of the opening months of the year. The poor results, coupled with some training ground bust-ups between Mourinho and some senior players at the club were enough reasons for him to get sacked.

KLINSMANN SUPPORTS REFEREE ON CONTROVERSIAL PENALTY

Tottenham Hotspur legend Jurgen Klinsmann has sided with Premier League referee Michael Oliver after he awarded a penalty against his former club during the North London Derby in the league. The decision to award Arsenal a penalty at the expense of Tottenham Hotspur was a crucial one as the goal scored from the resulting penalty turned out to be the winner in the derby. JurgenKlinsmann is a former manager for both the United States and German national teams and the former German national team striker was on ESPN to talk about the North London Derby played on Sunday evening. According to JurgenKlinsmann, Michael Oliver was right to award a second half penalty for hosts Arsenal after central striker Alexandre Lacazette was adjudged to have been brought down in the Tottenham Hotspur box by Spurs defender Davinson Sanchez. Spurs players protested the decision to award Arsenal that penalty but Michael Oliver stuck to his decision. Frenchman Lacazette scored the penalty awarded by the referee as he sent Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris the wrong way to give the Gunners the lead.

KLINSMANN: LUKAKU AMONG THE TOP 5 STRIKERS IN THE WORLD

Jurgen Klinsmann has revealed that he is a huge fan of Inter Milan striker, insisting that the big Belgian is among the top 5 players in the world currently. He has also set a challenge for the former Manchester United striker, adding that he should be proud of himself and his prolificacy at finding the back of the net even from the tightest of situations.

Lukaku is currently flourishing for the Italian Serie A giants and has scored a total of 22 goals in all of the 29 games he has played for the Nerazzurri across all competitions so far this season. KLINSMANN BELIEVES THE BUNDESLIGA IS THE BEST PLACE FOR YOUNG US PLAYERS

Former manager of the United States Men’s National Team Jurgen Klinsmann believes that young talents emerging from the US should always look to move to the German Bundesliga as it is the best place for them to develop into even better players. Klinsmann made this statement after the emergence of another top young US talent Mathew Hoppe, who scored a superb hat-trick for Bundesliga side Schalke 04 last weekend to hand his side their first win of the season.


Schalke were previously on a 30-game winless run before meeting Hoffenheim at the weekend and thumped the visitors by a wide margin of 4-0. It was the fifth Bundesliga appearance for Hoppe, who stole the show as he helped down the visitors with a beautifully taken hat-trick. (more…)

KLINSMANN BELIEVES MOURINHO HAS TOTTENHAM IN THE TITLE RACE

 

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Jurgen Klinsmann is of the notion that the club’s manager José Mourinho has what it takes to guide the London club to their first-ever Premier League title.


The German reiterated his strong belief that Portuguese manager Mourinho is capable of bringing the Premier League crown to Hotspur having overturned the club’s fortunes following a fine run of form that has seen them amass precious Premier League points this season.

OLIVER KAHN HELPS FLICK EXTEND DEAL

 

Bayern Munich executive board member Oliver Kahn has revealed the role he played in ensuring the coach Hansi Flick extended his contract. With the German football legend set to take over as Chairman and CEO by the end of next year when Karl-Heinz Rummenigge exits, he was particular about having a smooth admission to the top job.


Flick has helped Bayern rise to the top of the Bundesliga again. He has done a good job managing the players, push for more game time from various quarters, the egos, the management and doing well on the continent. His new deal will keep him with the club until 2023, as per reports.

WERNER KEEN ON LIVERPOOL

RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner is keen on moving to the Merseyside this summer, per reports in the Premier League. The German star has turned down inquries from Chelsea and Manchester United, preferring a move to join Jurgen Klopp.


The Bundesliga man is keen on moving to England now that he is in his prime, being one of the most wanted marksmen in the whole of Europe. The 24-year old has only 60 million euros in his release clause which the Reds would be expected to settle.

Was Jurgen Klinsmann a Mistake for Hertha?

Jurgen Klinsmann, in a shocking decision, got down from th3 position of manager of Hertha Berlin. Jurgen Klinsmann was being chased by Hertha Berlin for a long time for the position of head coach. But after being in his position for 76 days, out of which almost half of the time went in the Bundesliga winter break, Jurgen Klinsmann, who had been the manager for Germany, USA and Bayern Munich in the past, stepped down from his position.

Initially, Klinsmann signing with Hertha Berlin looked like a very good decision. Jurgen Klinsmann is a huge name and he always had great ideas, something Hertha Berlin was in dire need of to go with their recent rebuild. Hertha made a statement by hiring the World Cup winner. Since Hertha was not content with being the most non-metropolitan capital city club in Europe, it appointed Klinsmann to take a step ahead in being the big city club it always wanted to be.

JURGEN KLINSMANN TAKES OVER AT HERTHA BERLIN

Former Hertha Berlin coach Ante Covic led the club to five straight matches without a win and within that number, four defeats.  The 4-nil loss against Augsburg forced Hertha to send Covic packing and saw Klinsmann leave the club’s advisory board to take over from where Covic stopped.


There was a time when Jurgen Klinsmann was the apple of German football’s eyes. Haven coached Bayern Munich, the German national team plus the United States of America, the former Tottenham forward has had his own fair share of moments under the spotlight.

JURGEN KLINSMANN LINKED WITH ECUADOR JOB

Ecuador are said to be in negotiations with legendary German international Jurgen Klinsmann, according to reports from South America. This, according to reports is close to completion as the nation looks to make the World Cup finals in 2022.


Ecuador football has been in a mini-crisis in the past few years, and the country did not qualify for the last World Cup in Russia despite starting the qualifiers well.  It appears that the Ecuador FA is looking to learn lessons from this and want a high profile coach for the World Cup qualifiers, which is five months away.
