WRONG TO CRITICIZE

The former Germany national team manager Jurgen Klinsmann has said that the criticism against the current manager Joachim Loew is extremely wrong. Joachim Loew took over from Jurgen Klinsmann after the former Bayern Munich player decided to step down following the end of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He is currently the national team manager of the United States national team. He has said that Joachim Loew should be praised for the work he has done since taking over from him. He has managed to guide Germany to the semifinals and finals of major competitions, although he has not been able to win any one of them.

This has meant that Germany has been criticised in various quarters for not having the winning mentality, but Jurgen Klinsmann has said that the team will improve in the next World Cup. The current German national team underwent a radical change when Klinsmann was in charge of the team. A number of youngsters were introduced into the team in the hope of making Germany strong once again. Klinsmann reckons that the team will improve once these youngsters get more experience under their belt. Even at the Euro 2012, the German national team was the one with the least average age.

“Joachim Low does not give up, that I am sure of. He made the semi-finals with a team that has so much room to grow. They went out to a very strong Italian side. This team hasn’t fulfilled their potential yet and they still have a lot of room to develop. They were the youngest team at the tournament and now even more young players are coming into the team. There is no guarantee for victory,” said Klinsmann in an interview given to the Stuttgarter Nachrichten. Germany were defeated by Italy in the semifinals of the Euro 2012.
