  1. @BarrasYLasEstrellas
    get your research straight buddy.
    3 world cups, and who cares about statistics? We Won this game. We tied Last Year. and in 2009 we beat USA 3-1. In scores, Costa Rica is obviously the winner.

  2. The good thing is that he has tons of time. Concacaf qualifying is a joke, so we’ll qualify for the World Cup no matter what team we use. He previously rebuilt the entire German squad after previous coaches were so reluctant to do that. He got tons of bad results before the World Cup, but the team significantly improved under his leadership. I’m sure he’s doing the same thing here.

  3. @nlspe

    Uruguay is a football country. Mexico is a football country (and have never won a WC).

  4. @nlspe

    yes but having an american coach is worse since they know nothing about football.

  5. @BarrasYLasEstrellas

    and no flopping by our goalkeepers and the US never wastes time….in friendlies!!!!!!

  6. @nlspe ha ha it’s not our nation’s most prized sport! Funny how people like you forget that it has never been a game heavily liked in the US, and let’s not forget our team is on the rise another point you guys fail to grasp!

  7. @nlspe why are even here for? Don’t insult our country and my country. We are proud of our mens! Fighting for our chance to be noticed and telling the world MLS is better than Europe. If your a nooby european why don’t stop calling it football and call soccer which the real word!

    Don’t hate us, Just rate us!

  8. @jorge8565 U.S.A.= 4 Gold Cups/ Costa Rica=0 Gold Cups /
    U.S.A.= 9 World Cups appearence/ Costa Rica= 2 World Cup appearence
    U.S.A.= Sub Champions of Confederatons Cup/ Costa Rica= Never has even qualified.
    0VERALL= U.S.A. Owns Costa Rica.

    Looks like your the one who needs to do some research “buddy”.

  9. @BUGGG2 Changing young people’s viewpoints on soccer would be very, very hard (I know myself as I go to a school filled with football players..). Usually its easier if you find someone who plays, knows, and loves soccer, then make them into a great athlete. However, if MLS keeps growing like it is now, then I could see the US become something like England, where soccer is the main sport and it gets many great athletes. I see your point, the US has one of the largest talent pools in the world.

  10. The slick passing game looked great early in the match. Keeping a Clean Sheet has a tactical look at what the US did well and poorly on Friday

  11. @zeMaveriiK Ok but surely in a country like USA with such standout athletes we can find some with a bit of soccer skills.. the problem is at youth level all want to play other sports and soccer is an afterthought and a sissy sport… I myself would’ve been a great soccer player and am athletic but I chose other sports because of the soccer tabooism… I think this is something for Klinsman to think about we need to breed players we need to get at the young athetes to play soccer.

  12. this is the team i c for starting 11 for the qualifiers, howard..cherundolo, bocanegra, goodson, chandler..shea, torres, donovan, edu, adu…dempsey.. bench castillo, orozco, bradley, agudelo, altidore, rogers, beckerman, f.jhnson..and maybe just maybe gomez if nessesary

  13. @BESTofdaWEST6795 this was indeed the top 4 best performances we have ever displayed, first usa vs germany 2002 complete domination, 2nd usa vs italy complete domination, usa vs mexico not such a good first half alot better second half we have never played such an equal game vs mexico ever, we ususlly get dominated and win by creating 4 chances,but we tied with a good performance, and fionally costa rica, ive never seen the usa have a 64 percent possesion and so many corsses in the box

  14. @BUGGG2 Because having more physical and athletic players doesn’t mean that you are going to win. You need to balance technical and physical play, not just focus on one or the other. Having a big, muscley man but with no idea of how to pass or dribble well will drag down the team. Same thing with having an insanely smart, technical player, but one that tires out in 45 or falls down every minute.

  15. 2 more yrs. until the World Cup with qualifiers soon. Being only the 2nd game there’s still plenty of time for coaching. Too early to tell the rosters capabilities from Klinsmann’s perpective. These are the tryouts, he’s scouting. Whatever decisions made if he’s as good of a coach as we hope. They’ll be the right ones. Future looks bright. The MLS isn’t exactly the cream of the crop either. Cut the man some slack. U.S. fans remain calm, Mexico has never won a World Cup either.

  16. @gavilan623 lol dude you know how many new players are on the team? 2nd match together…ofc there not going to do great. And they dont have dempsey

  17. Klinsy- MAKE SURE THEY STOP PLAYING UP THE MIDDLE ALL GAME, HAVE CHANDLER OR WHOEVER IS ON THE WING OVERLAP AND GET TORRES TO PLAY THE BALL WIDE AND GET SOME QUALITY CROSSES IN FROM THE FLANKS, TOO MUCH UP THE MIDDLE. TORRES PAIRED WITH BRADLEY OR EDU IS A VERY SOLID CENTER MID, BUT THEY NEED SUPPORT ON THE WINGS AND PLAY AGUDELO MORE, SHEA IS NICE, AND BRING IN DAVIES!!! DAVIES AND BEASLEY SHOULD BE ON THE SQUAD. DONOVAN NEEDS TO STOP PLAYIN WEAK, HE NEEDS TO BE MORE INVOLVED AND STEP UP

  18. This is the best the US has EVER looked, they simply could not maintain that for 90 minutes, and CONCACAF teams, outside of Mexico, play like a bunch of punks. They dive, and then foul and foul and foul, and sit back out of fear. Weak teams, nonsense football. Torres was man of the match, I have been saying that for years! Bocanegra did a good job jabbing back and hitting some dudes. Against punk players like that, you HAVE to crack them a few times, scare em and they back down, always.

  19. these first few games klinsmann is trying to get the team to play his style of play which during the first 30min of the game played very well.

  20. There passing has improved soo well. I’m pretty happy with Klinsman aswell, he’s going to shape the MNT in a different yet great way.
